Enrollment Information for Cherry Creek Striders, presented by HealthONECherry Creek Striders

Step One: Registration Form
To become a Striders member you need to fill out the registration form, available at Guest Services on the lower level near Neiman Marcus. These are important to complete because they contain all of your emergency contact information. Once you have completed the registration cards please return them to the Striders' box, located at the Guest Services desk.

Step Two: Mileage Cards
The Striders' box is located on the counter of the Guest Services near the Ticketmaster booth every morning. Each day you come to walk you should record your mileage on the card and file it alphabetically. If you are a new member, take a blank mileage card from the box and fill out your name and file it, recording your mileage as well.

Step Three: Incentives for Mileage
Each month your mileage will be added up for you and recorded at the bottom of the appropriate month's column. Awards will be given to members based on mileage accrued. You can pick up your awards at the Guest Services desk.

Tips for Exercising Safely
Warm Up/Cool Down
The periods before and after exercise are critical times for preventing unnecessary pain and injury. By warming up for 5 minutes prior to exercise with gentle activities, you can increase your blood flow to inactive muscles and gradually lower your heart rate to its resting rate after exercise. Remember, it is just as important to cool down as it is to warm up.

Stretching
Gentle static stretching is actually a part of the warm up cool/down process. Stretching when you are warmed up limbers tight muscles and improves joint flexibility, thereby reducing your risk of sprains and tears. Concentrate on stretching those muscle groups for your particular activity.

Using the Right Equipment
Improper equipment can cause more harm than generally realized. Always check your equipment before and after your activity and be sure to make replacements or repairs promptly. Pay special attention to wearing the proper footwear.

Common Sense
The most important factor in fitness injury protection is common sense. Make sure your muscles are conditioned before engaging in vigorous activity and use the right equipment and available safety devices. Remember, fitness should be fun.

Completion of the lower and upper level = 1.3 miles
Walking Hours: Everyday, 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
